13, 14, 15   Red Wine and Chocolate, Rattlesnake Hills Style!
No ticket or fee – FREE EVENT. Three delicious days of wine and chocolate! February 13-15, 2010 (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Presidents’ Day). An annual tradition for more than 20 years. (Visitors must have a wine glass to taste.) Luscious red wines and ports, white wines and ice wines are paired in the tasting rooms of the wineries chocolate delicacies.  Find newly released wines and old favorites during this 3-day Presidents’ Day weekend. Enjoy special discounts and/or reserve tasting can be yours with a Rattlesnake Hills Passport card for $10 (not required, but definitely worthwhile!). Call 509.965.4521 or 888.375.RHWT(7498)
  
Experience the true flavor of luscious red wines and ports in the tasting rooms of the wineries when they are paired with dark, bittersweet, or milk chocolate delicacies. Find newly released wines and old favorites during this 3-day Presidents’ Day weekend. And of course, your favorite white wines will be available for sampling as well.
   Come and enjoy our complimentary event, including samples of great wines, decadent chocolates, and weekend specials!* (Visitors must have a wine glass to taste. Some wineries may charge a small fee for tasting.)
  
Special discounts and/or reserve tasting can be yours with a Rattlesnake Hills Passport card for $10 (not required, but definitely worthwhile!). Purchase your Passport and logo wine glass at any of the Rattlesnake Hills wineries (see list below) or at the Yakima Visitor Center just off I-82 at exit 33A.

Agate Field Vineyards: 
Passport holders will be treated to tasting of our premium wines including our 06 Cabernet Franc, gold medal winner, paired with our specialty appetizers, homemade dark chocolate brownies, and chocolate covered cherries. We will also be offering a 10% discounts on all our Dancing Cowboy wines and 20% discount on all Agate Field labeled wines.
Bonair Winery:
Nothing is more exotically delicious than sipping Port with an incredible mouth-watering chocolate morsel.  This year we are featuring Dottie’s Delightful Chocolate Truffles to be paired with our incredibly luscious TOURIGA PORT.  So good, it makes your toes curl and your eyes light up! Dottie provides samples and a stunning array of delicacies available for purchase from her. 
Claar Cellars
will be serving our Syrah in chocolate "cups" made by Essencia Artisan Bakery and Chocolaterie during Red Wine and Chocolate weekend, as well as having collectable pins available for purchase.
Eaton Hill Winery:
Enjoy our award-winning wines, especially the Cabernet Sauvignons and our marvelous Ports.  With Chocolate - Ooh La La!  Rumor has it that our soup of the days will be that Gourmet Bean Soup you love so much.  See you here!
Horizon’s Edge Winery:
Boehm’s chocolate will be paired with “Intimate Affair Port batch # 4”. Passport holders receive 7% off all wine purchases and 15% off a case. 
Hyatt Vineyards:
Smooth chocolate to pair with our smooth new release, our ’08 Zinfandel. Recent awards on several of our wines, hand-crafted by winemaker Andy Gamache, show just how well these exciting wines pair with just about anything.
Knight Hill Winery
is pairing Roundtable Red with a piece of serious chocolate for all customers. As an added feature this year, join the Vignerons in the barrel room to taste the soon-to-be released ‘08 Syrah. ($5 tasting fee, applied to any purchase) Futures are available! With a Passport you’ll also receive 10% off 1-5 bottles, 20% off 6-11 bottles and 30% off a case. 
Maison de Padgett Winery:
Wild natural chocolate fountains will be paired with our Succulant Sangiovese. Passportet holders receive a free poster with any bottle purchase (one poster per person), 7% off all wine purchases and 15% off a case.
Masset Winery:
Special pricing on several wines including our new release Ice Wine which will be paired with Belgian White Chocolate Truffles infused with Essence of Ice Wine. The new vintage of le Petit Rouge will be released this weekend too! German Sausage and Prosciutto from Jahr's Sausage Shop in Selah will be available for purchase in small picnic size portions as well as other picnic(ing) supplies. Limited edition silk-screen prints of Rattlesnake Hills scenes by famed Russian artist Alexei Kazantsev will be on display and available. Open 10 – 6.
Paradisos del Sol Winery:
Experience Chocolate Chipotle Chicken Chili in/on/as Teeny Tiny Tacos. A come-hither concoction, not confection, of cocoa, chiles, and condiments composed for collegial companionship with Paradisos Red and our compañeros.
Piety Flats Winery
will feature a special chocolate treat.  Truffles stuffed with Figs.  This gourmet chocolate pairs wonderfully with our award winning Red Wines.  It goes especially well with our new release called Tango which is a Malbec/Cab blend.
Portteus Vineyards
will feature Fudge Brownies by Chef Gregory Masset paired with our 2005 Malbec - Gold Medal winner and recent Double Gold winner! This weekend, we will be releasing our 2006 Petite Sirah, follow up to the amazing 2005 Gold Medal winner and Platinum Award (best of Gold Medal winners) Petite Sirah! Also releasing our 2006 Merlot and 2006 Cabernet Franc!
Severino Cellars
will be serving our famous family dark chocolate fudge.  We enjoy it best with our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, but you can try it with all four of our red wines and decide for yourself.  Our 2005 Merlot will be on special for this weekend only, 15% off bottle purchases, 20% off of case purchases.  For questions contact us at 509-829-3800.  Open from 10am-6pm.
Silver Lake Winery:
Join us to celebrate all the wonderful goodness that comes from one of the greatest pairing of all time! Dark chocolate morsels to melt on your tongue and mingle with rich award-winning red wines. Couldn’t ask for more- except maybe music! Live music in our Vineyard room to enjoy as you sip and sample your savory delights. Steppe Cellars:
This Red Wine and Chocolate weekend, Steppe Cellars will have chocolate to pair with your wine, and wine to pair with your chocolate.  We will be serving several different chocolate fondues.  Use the sensory "standards" to help you detect the different aromas and flavors in both the wines and the chocolates, then decide which pairings you enjoy the most. 
Two Mountain Winery
will be featuring our Famous Chocolate Mousse with raspberry sauce.  We will also be releasing the long awaited and sought after Hidden Horse VI Red Table Wine.
Tefft Cellars
will be serving our crowd pleasing "hand rolled" chocolate truffles, which will be paired with our award winning Cabernet Sauvignon. There will be many other wines to taste and enjoy, including our popular Ports!

Taste directly from the barrels, speak with the winemakers about their craft and gain insight into the artistic process of the fine, award-winning wines produced in the Rattlesnake Hills. Free! Chills and thrills await you on the haunted trail. Bizarre and unexplained occurrences have been reported during this weekend, including some great deals on wine! HalloWine is a themed weekend at the wineries in the Rattlesnake Hills featuring artist-carved pumpkins, harvest soups, chocolate, costumed staff, and new releases. The treats at many wineries are special discounts on wine and/or treats for visitors dressed in costumes. Wineries are open from 10 AM – 5 PM with a few open until 6 PM. An annual tradition for 20 years. This culinary extravaganza is offered to all of our valued customers as our *complimentary holiday gift to you. You’ll find delicious foods prepared by regional chefs and some prepared by the winemakers themselves. No ticket is required to experience all the benefits, including gourmet foods and hand-crafted wines, but you may want to purchase a Passport for $10 to receive great discounts on wine purchases and free reserve wine tasting.
